Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with recent Epic EMR experience and a valid Oklahoma or Compact RN license for a night shift position in a Level 3 Trauma Center.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting with a Level 3 Trauma Center designation and 171 staffed beds
  • ICU unit position
  • 3x12-hour night shift schedule
  • Patient ratios of 1:2, occasionally 1:3
  • May float to Med Surg (1:5 ratio) or ER based on census needs
  • 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active Oklahoma or Compact RN license required at time of submission
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Recent Epic EMR charting experience within the past year required
  • Minimum of one successful travel assignment required with no performance or attendance issues
  • Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care/management
  • Experience managing ventilated patients and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
  • Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips including continuous IV sedation
  • Cardiovascular care experience including CABG and IABP management
  • Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure

Additional Information

  • Manage complex ICU cases including CRRT, cardiac surgery, hemodynamic monitoring, respiratory failure requiring vent management, DKA, and altered mental status
  • Responsible for central line, arterial line, and CVP setup and management
  • Basic dysrhythmia training required for the role
  • Scrub colors vary by unit
  • Free on-site parking provided
  • Facility follows a zero-fault attendance policy where any missed shift is considered unexcused, with warnings after 2 missed shifts and possible cancellation after 3
  • Must complete assigned training modules prior to start date
  • Must visit the lab for compliance requirements within 48-72 hours of signing
  • RTO limited to a maximum of 5 days within a 13-week assignment with no holiday time off, and no additional RTO permitted after submittal or while on contract
  • No block scheduling or special scheduling requests accommodated
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as a traveler or permanent employee are not eligible unless disclosed as a returning traveler
