Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Oncology Clinic position requiring an active IN or compact RN license and at least 2 years of oncology experience.
Details
- Outpatient oncology clinic setting within a hospital
- Medical oncology patient population
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm with hours that may vary slightly
- No weekends or on-call requirements
- Cerner EMR experience required
- May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals depending on volume and census
Requirements
- Active RN license (IN or Compact) required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience required
- Cerner charting system experience required
- Chemotherapy administration skills required
- Experience with continuous infusion, oral administration, monitoring, and body fluid handling post-chemotherapy preferred
- Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) and OCN certification preferred
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, neutropenic precautions, wound care, and tracheostomy care preferred
- Post-surgical care experience preferred
- Skilled in patient and family education and psychosocial support
Additional Information
- Administer chemotherapy and provide comprehensive oncology patient care including monitoring and education
- Provide patient and family education along with psychosocial support
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Maximum RTO of 10 days; must work at least one of three major holidays if RTO falls during a holiday period
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Previous employees must have a 3-year gap before returning as a traveler
