Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) for a night shift position caring for neonatal through geriatric patients, requiring 2+ years of experience and BLS/ACLS/PALS certification.
Details
- Hospital-based Respiratory Therapy (RRT) unit
- Patient population includes neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- 36 hours per week with every other weekend required
- 20-week assignment length
- Holiday coverage required as scheduled
- Floating required within specialty and to all care areas to support RRT services
- No on-call requirement
Requirements
- CRT or RRT certification required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required
- No new graduates accepted
- Active MD state or compact license required if applicable
- First-time travelers accepted if they have strong pediatric and adult experience
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care across neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations
- Perform ventilator management, intubation assist, arterial blood gas draws, and pulmonary function testing
- Support high-risk deliveries and neonatal/pediatric intubation as needed
- Manage airway care, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Comfortable floating within scope with no restrictions, as travelers are first to float
- Candidates residing under 50 miles from the facility may not qualify for travel rate unless locals are explicitly accepted
- Return travelers must wait at least 6 months after completing an assignment before returning to the system
- Former staff must wait at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
- Most locations allow one contract extension before requiring a 6-month break before returning to the same facility or unit
- Maximum of 7 days RTO can be requested, with an additional week added to new contracts if more than 4 consecutive days are taken
