Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a Neuroscience night shift position requiring a MO or compact RN license and at least 1 year of acute care Med/Surg or Neuro experience.

Details

• Neurosurgical unit caring for stroke, seizure, MS, spinal, and neurosurgery patients
• Night shift, 3x12, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Every other weekend required
• Floating as needed within scope
• No on-call requirements
• Occasional charge nurse responsibilities expected

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO or Compact) required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient acute care experience in Med/Surg or Neuro required
• FIT test required upon arrival at facility
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 through April 1

Additional Information

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care in a Neurosurgical unit
• Maintains professional accountability for assigned patient care and evaluates care provided by other caregivers
• Coordinates patient care with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality
• Night shift orientation occurs on day shift, requiring full week availability for orientation
• Black scrub color required
• Expected to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)
• Up to 5 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week period, with additional time made up at the end of the assignment
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months allowed
