Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for Interventional Radiology requiring both General IR and Neuro IR experience along with a WI or compact RN license.
Details
- Interventional Radiology unit within a Level III Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Department staffed 24/7 with 5 procedure rooms
- All-adult patient population, no pediatrics
- General IR cases include kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty, central lines/PICCs/ports, fistulograms, IVC filters, nephrostomy tubes, nephroureteral stents, peripheral leg cases, coil embolization, and thoras/paras
- CT room support for cryoablations, CT-guided biopsies, and drains
- Neuro IR cases include strokes, embolization, DSA, WADA testing, and spinal angios
- Average of 40-50 patients seen per day
- 10-hour day shift schedule, 0700-1730 on weekdays
- Call rotation includes 1 weekday call shift per week and weekend call approximately every 5th-6th weekend
- Weekend call runs Friday end of shift through Monday at 0700
- No floating required
- Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Change Healthcare PACS
- Utilizes Siemens and GE imaging equipment along with MedRad injectors
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 12 months of core IR experience required, including both General IR and Neuro IR experience for basic to complex cases such as bleeds, TIPS, Y-90, carotid stenting, and strokes
- Experience with sedation administration, patient monitoring, and charting required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Experience with Siemens and GE imaging equipment preferred
- AAA intervention experience preferred
- At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required
- Candidate's middle name/initial, DOB, and last 4 of SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide sedation, monitoring, and charting support for General IR and Neuro IR procedures
- Unit supported by two receptionist/HUC coordinators, two lead techs, tech specialists, 24/7 respiratory therapy, 24/7 hospitalist coverage, and 24/7 CNA/transporter support
- Two techs staffed per exam room, occasionally three for complex cases
- Orientation includes 1-2 weeks with a preceptor and competency check-off
- On-call response time requirement of 30 minutes
- No current holiday requirements, though subject to change to call-only coverage
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be approved
- Scrubs provided and free parking available in the parking structure
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius rule
- Travelers with only General IR experience will take General IR call only; those with both Neuro and General IR experience may be asked to cover both
- First-time travelers and travelers with 1 year of experience will be considered
- Former employees of Advocate Health or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments
- Covid vaccination required
