Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Level 4 NICU/Pediatric Cardiac unit at a teaching hospital, requiring RRT certification and 2+ years of pediatric, neonate, and infant experience.
Details
- Level 4 NICU with Pediatric Cardiac patient population
- 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirement
- Floating within scope may be required depending on experience
- No floating to sister facilities
- Epic EMR preferred
Requirements
- RRT certification required
- BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required (AHA certifications only)
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience required
- Pediatric, neonate, and infant experience required
- NBRC and SC RCP (South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider) certifications accepted
- SC RRT license must be in hand at time of start; pending license considered with proof of application
- Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Skilled in airway management devices, suctioning, and extubation
- Bronchoscopy patient care experience preferred
- Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Work in a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma status
- 865 staffed beds
- Caribbean Blue scrub color required
- Holiday rotation required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate; non-local candidates prioritized
- 60-mile radius rule applies
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration
- Approximately 4 hours of non-billable training modules required prior to start
- Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
- During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
