Description
American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of pediatric, neonatal, and infant experience for a day shift position in a Level 4 NICU and pediatric cardiac unit.
Details
- Teaching hospital setting within a Level 4 NICU and Pediatric Cardiac unit
- Patient population includes pediatric, neonatal, and infant cases
- 3x12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Holiday rotation required
- Weekend requirement every other weekend
- No on-call requirement
- Floating within scope may be required depending on experience
- No floating to sister facilities
- Epic EMR system used, experience preferred
- Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
Requirements
- RRT certification required
- BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
- NBRC or SC RCP (South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider) certification accepted
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Pediatric, neonatal, and infant care experience required
- Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Experience with airway management devices, suctioning, and extubation required
- Bronchoscopy care experience preferred
- License required if applicable, must be active South Carolina RRT license at time of start
- Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care to pediatric, neonatal, and infant patients in a Level 4 NICU and pediatric cardiac setting
- Perform airway management, suctioning, extubation, and bronchoscopy care as needed
- Facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma status
- Caribbean Blue scrub color required
- Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration
- Radius rule of 60 miles applies; local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
