Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 3+ years of L&D experience and a ND or compact RN license.

Details

Acute care Labor & Delivery unit with 19 beds
Care for L&D patients including high-risk deliveries, postpartum mom and baby, and gyn surgical postop patients
Nurse to patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2 for L&D, 1:3 for mom/baby couplets, and 1:4 for gyn patients (combined ratios of 1:5-6)
Utilizes fetal monitors, suction, oxygen, and vital signs monitors
OBIX documentation and centralized monitoring used for L&D, EPIC used for gyn charting
12-hour night shifts with occasional day shifts required
Rotating weekends and holidays required
Floating to newborn nursery and NICU required as needed

Requirements

Active RN license (ND or Compact) required
Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
Minimum 3 years of experience in L&D, Postpartum, and Gyn care required
Fetal monitoring experience required
STABLE certification preferred but not required

Additional Information

Provide nursing care during delivery for high-risk and standard L&D patients, postpartum mom and baby care, and gyn surgical postop care
36 hours of unit-specific orientation provided for travelers
Navy blue scrubs required for gyn and mom/baby care areas, hospital-provided scrubs for L&D
Badge in and out required at facility
Candidates with previous employment at this health system must have an end date at least 6 months prior to application
Local candidates within 80 miles of the facility are not accepted for this position
