Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift Med/Surg RN requiring an AL or compact license, BLS certification, and at least one year of experience

Details

• Med/Surg unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00) with option for 4x12 hours
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating required
• May be asked to charge occasionally as needed
• 30-minute lunch break required with no skipped meals

Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification via AHA required
• Fit test required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Experience with any charting system required
• Skilled in IV starts, isolation precautions/PPE, and wound care/wound vac
• Experience with blood product administration preferred
• Experience with peripheral line care/management preferred
• Experience with PICC line management preferred
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy management and care preferred
• Experience with feeding tube care and management preferred
• Experience administering Heparin preferred
• Experience administering Insulin preferred
• Experience with PCA administration preferred
• Experience with nasal cannula and oxygen administration preferred
• Experience with surgical drains preferred
• Experience with Paragon charting system preferred

Additional Information

• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred but not required, first-time travelers welcome to apply
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position
• Requested time off (RTO) limited to a maximum of 7 days
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius will be considered at a lower rate
