Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring AL or compact RN license and IV/wound care skills.

Details

• Med/Surg unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) with option for 4x12s
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• May be asked to charge occasionally as needed
• 30-minute uninterrupted lunch break required

Requirements

• Active RN license (AL or Compact) required
• BLS certification via AHA required
• Fit test required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Experience with IV starts, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac required
• Skills in blood product administration, peripheral line care, and PICC line management preferred
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy care and feeding tube management preferred
• Experience administering Heparin, Insulin, and PCA preferred
• Any charting system experience required, Paragon experience preferred
• Experience with oxygen administration and nasal cannula preferred
• Experience with surgical drain management preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg unit including wound care, IV therapy, and medication administration
• Support isolation precaution protocols and PPE use as needed
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position
• Requested time off (RTO) limited to a maximum of 7 days
• Local candidates within 60 miles are considered at a lower pay rate
