Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring cardiac telemetry experience and a NC or compact RN license.

Details

• PCU setting focused on cardiac patients including acute coronary syndrome, pre/post cardiac catheterization, arrhythmias, and syncope
• Secondary population includes new onset and chronic heart failure, plus overflow for other progressive care level patients
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend requirement of 5 shifts every 6 weeks
• Subject to floating between all Cone Health campuses as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Cardiac telemetry and PCU experience required
• Experience with TR bands, central lines, PICC lines, and CVP monitoring required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (two attempts allowed)
• Current driver's license required to verify address

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac-focused nursing care including management of dysrhythmias, cardiac drips, and use of rapid response teams
• Support patients undergoing pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post EP lab procedures for pacemaker or ICD placement, and Tikosyn loading
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
