Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Neuro ICU position requiring a TX or compact RN license, 2 years of relevant ICU experience, and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Mixed acuity unit combining ICU, PCU, and Med-Surg patient populations
- Neuro Intensive Care Unit setting with a 1:2 patient ratio
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
- Weekend, floating, and holiday coverage may be required
- Epic EMR experience required for consideration
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of relevant ICU/PCU/Med-Surg experience preferred
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- TNCC certification preferred
- Military-issued certifications accepted; AHA preferred, ARC not accepted
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- SSN, date of birth, and state-issued ID required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing for neurological patients including CVA/acute stroke, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury management
- Manage advanced neuro interventions such as EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, and hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun
- Perform respiratory care including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
- Administer and titrate critical medications such as vasoactive drips, IV sedation, and neuromuscular blockade
- Manage central lines, arterial lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration
- Provide renal support including CRRT/CVVHD and management of acute/chronic renal failure
- Monitor cardiac status using FloTrac/Vigileo, 12-lead EKG, and dysrhythmia management
- Follow infection prevention protocols including isolation precautions and PPE use
- Local candidates residing within 90 miles are accepted at a lower rate
- RTO limited to 5 non-consecutive days, with only one holiday request approved during Nov-Jan
- All RTO must be approved by management prior to contract signing
