Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position requiring a CA RN license and prior L&D/PP nursing experience.

Details

• Acute care Labor & Delivery/Postpartum unit with 9 L&D beds and 4 postpartum beds
• Approximately 55 births per month
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 6p-6a, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirement
• Float required between Postpartum and L&D units
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Uses Philips telemetry and FetaLink fetal monitoring system
• Unit-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts
• Cares for patients 34 weeks gestation and above, including high-risk deliveries
• Charge nurse does not carry a patient assignment
• OB tech support available on both day and night shifts
• OB/Neonatologist available on-call
• Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
• Pharmacy not available 24/7; after-hours coverage provided via Marian after 10pm

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• 2+ years of L&D/PP nursing experience required
• Must be able to circulate for C-sections
• Experience in both L&D and Postpartum required for floating eligibility
• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications required
• AWHONN certification required
• COVID vaccine required
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Travel nursing experience is preferred
• Holiday coverage worked in rotation with permanent staff
• Hospital-provided scrubs required
• Follows AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
