Description

American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of ER experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care hospital Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
• Non-trauma ER with STEMI and stroke certification
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7p-7a) including weekends and holidays as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• May be required to float between DT and NE campuses based on census or staffing needs
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license in hand prior to start
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Experience administering continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors
• Experience managing cardiac dysrhythmias and cardiac monitoring
• Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with CVA and neuro-trauma patient care

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care for a combined adult and pediatric patient population, including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and orthopedic cases
• Royal blue scrubs required for ER staff
• May be required to support hurricane emergency response efforts if assigned during hurricane season (June-November)
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate; radius rule of 60 miles applies, with preference given to non-local candidates
• All requested time off must be submitted and approved in advance of start
