Description
American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of ER experience and an active SC or compact RN license.
Details
- Acute care hospital Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
- Non-trauma ER with STEMI and stroke certification
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7p-7a) including weekends and holidays as needed
- No on-call responsibilities
- May be required to float between DT and NE campuses based on census or staffing needs
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or compact license in hand prior to start
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
- Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Experience administering continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors
- Experience managing cardiac dysrhythmias and cardiac monitoring
- Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
- Experience with CVA and neuro-trauma patient care
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care for a combined adult and pediatric patient population, including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and orthopedic cases
- Royal blue scrubs required for ER staff
- May be required to support hurricane emergency response efforts if assigned during hurricane season (June-November)
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate; radius rule of 60 miles applies, with preference given to non-local candidates
- All requested time off must be submitted and approved in advance of start
