Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Med/Surg-Tele unit requiring 24 months of experience and telemetry, ortho, and drip management skills.

Details

• 16-bed Med/Surg-Tele unit with a 5:1 patient ratio
• Patient population includes telemetry and post-op surgical, ortho, and general surgery cases
• Responsible for reading and measuring telemetry strips
• Manages drips including insulin, Cardizem, heparin, and amiodarone
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• No call requirements
• Works every 3rd weekend, including holiday rotation if scheduled

Requirements

• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 24 months of Med/Surg and/or Tele experience in a hospital or medical center setting required
• Ortho and general surgery care experience required
• Telemetry experience preferred
• Drip experience with insulin, Cardizem, heparin, and amiodarone required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers accepted with minimum 24 months of current nursing experience
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Past UPH employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments at any UPH market facility
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
• Illinois-licensed RNs must also hold an active Iowa license or provide proof of application for an Iowa single-state or compact license during compliance
