Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a day/night rotation position requiring a NH or compact RN license and recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience.

Details

• Work on a Medical Specialties unit within a nationally recognized Cystic Fibrosis center
• Care for adult patients with acute or chronic illnesses including sepsis, infectious processes, acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis), diabetes, GI issues, fluid/electrolyte imbalances, alcohol withdrawal, liver disease, substance misuse, endocarditis, heart disease, and skin/wound issues
• Manage patients with acute and chronic respiratory illness including COPD, flu, pneumonia, and Cystic Fibrosis
• Units include 1 East with 36 beds and 2/3 East with 25 beds
• Schedule includes day/night rotation with 36 or 48 hour work weeks
• Utilizes telemetry monitoring for applicable patients

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience required within the last 2 years
• Experience managing chest tubes and various tube types required
• Experience with drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone required
• Experience with lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients required
• Experience caring for patients with trachs and laryngectomies required
• Telemetry experience required
• Experience managing complex wounds required
• Experience with central line care, maintenance, and blood draws required

• Local candidates are not permitted for this position
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
