Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist - Special Procedures with ARRT (R) certification and TX-MRT licensure for a 13-week travel assignment in the Round Rock, TX area.
Details
- Interventional Radiology Lab setting performing IR procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients
- 4x10 hour AM shifts, Monday through Friday, with call required
- Serves newborn, pediatric, young adult, adult, and geriatric patient populations
- Scrubs provided
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Interventional Radiology
- Current BLS (AHA only), ARRT (R), and TX-MRT license required
- Active TX license required as required by profession, if applicable
- Must be able to work independently with minimal oversight
- Proficiency in sterile technique for invasive multimodality procedures
- Ability to administer first aid and use emergency cart when needed
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- Mandatory flu vaccination required with no exemptions granted (typically enforced August through November)
Additional Information
- Perform high quality IR procedures according to established exam protocols and physician orders
- Prepare patients and procedure areas, including positioning, immobilization, and equipment adjustment
- Communicate with patients and families to explain procedures and assess ability to tolerate exam
- Adhere to safety, infection-control, drug, and radiation policies throughout procedures
- Maintain equipment and work areas to quality and cleanliness standards, coordinating with engineers and physicists as needed
- Obtain and maintain documentation including patient history, consent forms, and pregnancy/shielding precautions
- Maintain imaging records according to department policies for timely interpretation
- May serve as preceptor for training new team members
- Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
