Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for an ICU position requiring an active CA RN license, at least 2 years of ICU experience, and cardiovascular/open heart/balloon pump experience.
Details
- 26-week ICU assignment with a hard start date of 11/16
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Unit averages a census of 24 patients with 28 beds and a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Adult and geriatric patient population
- Every other weekend coverage required with no on-call obligations
- Self-scheduling available
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Epic EMR experience required; Allscripts experience preferred
Requirements
- Active California RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Cardiovascular experience including open heart and balloon pump management required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- VIP, MAB, or CPI certification via in-person course required
- Must pass onsite EKG competency exam and Relias EKG test prior to start (80% minimum passing score, two attempts allowed)
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with IV insulin protocols, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, and PICC line management
- Proficient in starting and maintaining IVs
- Experience caring for ventilated patients, including ABG interpretation and suctioning
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- RTO must be submitted with the initial application and finalized in advance for the full contract
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Once submitted, RTO cannot be changed except to cancel requested time off
- Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
- Previous employees will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
- Facility is smoke and nicotine-free; candidates must arrive free of tobacco odor
- Candidates with license restrictions, disciplinary actions, or background findings will not be considered
