Description
American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN with an active CA license and at least 2 years of telemetry experience for a night shift assignment.
Details
- Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, rotating Sunday through Saturday
- 17-week assignment length
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Floating required to related units
- Weekend coverage required
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; CPI certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required and must be reflected in work history
- Two supervisor references required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team activation
- Experience with IV therapy, central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care
- Experience with arterial line management and blood product administration preferred
- Experience with sheath removal, TR Band, TAVR, and LVAD/RVAD care preferred
- Must pass EKG exam (up to 3 attempts allowed)
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry-level nursing care within cardiac, neuro stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC, and MS/Tele settings
- Manage patients with conditions such as CVA, intracranial bleeds, seizure disorders, and post-TPA care
- Administer and monitor medications including heparin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration), and procedural sedation
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Previous UC Irvine employees must have been separated for at least one year to be eligible to return as a traveler
- No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment; a maximum of 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract is highly preferred
- Facility manager may or may not conduct an interview prior to placement
