Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a Long Term Acute Care unit, requiring LTAC experience and BLS certification.
Details
- Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:10-12
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM
- May float within scope of practice to meet facility needs, with mileage compensation
- No call requirements
- Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
Requirements
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- License required if applicable
- Minimum 5 years of experience required, though 2 years is preferred and 1 year may be considered case-by-case
- Community Hospital and LTAC experience required
- Prior travel healthcare experience required
- Pending state license accepted, must be obtained prior to start
- Strong skills in patient assessment, gait training, and orthopedic and neurologic rehabilitation techniques
- Experience with adaptive devices, mobility equipment, and specialty beds
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include evaluation, treatment planning, and documentation for patients with orthopedic, neurologic, and cardiopulmonary conditions
- Treats diverse patient populations including geriatrics, oncology, and post-stroke rehabilitation cases
- Provides patient and family education on home exercise programs and safety
- Required to pass a Cardiac Dysrhythmia test during orientation, with only one attempt allowed
- Attendance policy in place; missing more than two shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review
- All requested time off must be submitted with the initial application, as later requests will not be accommodated
- Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
- Previous SRHS permanent staff are not eligible to return as travelers to any SRHS facility
