Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of adult critical care experience for a night shift position at a Level I trauma hospital.
Details
- Adult critical care/ICU setting within a Trauma Level I hospital
- Adult and geriatric patient population
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00pm-7:30am
- Weekend rotation every other weekend, subject to change
- EPIC EMR used for charting
- Floating to other qualified units or campuses required based on census needs
- Facility may call off up to one shift every two weeks
Requirements
- Active RRT license in South Carolina required; pending licenses not accepted (license required if applicable)
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- Trauma Level I experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
- Proficient in adult critical care skills including extubation, airway placement, suctioning, tracheostomy care, pulmonary hygiene, and sputum specimen collection
- Experience administering medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, and Xopenex
- Experience with medication delivery systems including aerosol mask/trach setups, Medihaler, and MDI
- Experience operating hand-held, T-piece, and trach collar nebulizers
- Experience with high flow nasal cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy
- Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, ventilator weaning, and troubleshooting high pressure alarms
- Skilled in interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)

- First-time travelers will be considered
- Local candidates accepted subject to facility radius requirements
- All RTO, block, and special scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of booking and are subject to facility approval
- Weekly orientation held with annual compliance training required
