Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years adult critical care experience and Trauma Level I background for a night shift hospital position.
Details
- Adult Critical Care work setting
- Adult and geriatric patient population
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required, subject to change as needed
- May be required to float to other qualified units or campuses per facility census needs
- Epic EMR used, minimum 1 year experience required
Requirements
- Active RRT license in South Carolina required in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
- License required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- Trauma Level I experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, RRT
- Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
- Proficient in adult critical care work settings including extubation, nasal and oral airway placement/suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care/management
- Experienced administering medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, Racemic Epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, and Xopenex
- Experienced with medication delivery via aerosol mask/trach setup, Medihaler, and Metered Dose Inhaler
- Experienced with hand held, T-piece, and trach collar nebulizers
- Experienced with High Flow Nasal Cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy
- Experienced with BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Skilled in interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
Additional Information
- Facility allows one call-off shift per two weeks
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Local candidates accepted subject to radius rule criteria
- Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance requirements
