Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of adult critical care experience and Trauma Level 1 background for a day shift hospital position.

Details

• Adult critical care respiratory therapy unit within a hospital setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• Floating to other units or campuses required as needed, limited to areas of demonstrated competency
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required
• Active RRT license required (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Trauma Level 1 experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Proficient in adult critical care skills including extubation, nasal and oral airway placement, suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care
• Experienced administering medications such as albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, and Xopenex
• Experienced with medication delivery systems including aerosol mask/trach setups, Medihaler, and MDI
• Experienced with hand-held, T-piece, and trach collar nebulizers
• Experienced with high flow nasal cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy
• Experienced with BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Skilled in interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy care to adult and geriatric patients within a Level 1 trauma hospital setting
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Local candidates accepted subject to radius requirements
• All RTO, block, and special scheduling requests must be submitted at time of application and are subject to facility approval
• Weekly orientation and annual compliance training required
• Pre-assignment testing and required modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
