Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with at least 2 years of current experience and a TN or compact RN license for a day-shift position requiring call and holiday rotation coverage.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
• Circulate role with total joint replacement case experience
• General OR and orthopedic surgery work settings, including total joint replacement
• Uses Cerner EMR and Omnicell medication system
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
• On-call requirement of 4-6 weeknights and one 24-hour weekend shift (Saturday and Sunday) approximately every 6 weeks
• Holiday rotation required
• Floating required in accordance with facility policy and clinical experience

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required but may be obtained after accepting the position
• Minimum 2 years of current Operating Room experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred but not required
• Certifications and licensure must not expire within 45 days of the start date

Additional Information

• Provide circulating nursing support for a variety of surgical procedures including orthopedic, neurological, urological, and robotic-assisted cases
• Complete required orientation and annual training modules, with hours varying by department
• Must be able to pass EKG testing prior to the start date
• RTO cannot be requested at time of booking and must be discussed with the manager during the assignment
• RTO cannot occur within 14 days of the start date and cannot exceed 7 days
• No RTO permitted for major holidays, holiday weekends, or surrounding days
• Local candidates may be considered at a reduced rate if residing within 75 miles of the facility
• Candidates residing more than 75 miles from the facility are eligible for the traveler rate
• Previous permanent staff cannot return to the same campus within 24 months, but may return to a different Covenant Health campus after 12 months
• Travel team members who are spouses or family members cannot be assigned to the same unit
