Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring TN or compact licensure, prior cardiac tele and nephrology med/surg experience, and night shift availability.
Details
- Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a hospital environment
- Cares for cardiac telemetry and nephrology/renal med-surg patients, including pre/post hemodialysis management
- Patient ratio of 1:7-8
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
- Weekend requirement of every other weekend or two per month
- Floating required in accordance with facility policy and clinical experience
- Cerner charting experience preferred but not required
Requirements
- Active RN license (TN or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required (NIHSS may be obtained after offer)
- ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with 2-3 years preferred
- Prior cardiac telemetry and nephrology med/surg experience required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Certifications and licensure must not expire within 45 days of the start date
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Dysrhythmia management skills preferred
- PD/HD experience preferred
- Renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis management experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care for cardiac telemetry and renal/nephrology med-surg patients
- First-time travelers will be considered if they have relevant nephrology and med-surg experience
- Holiday RTO requests will not be accommodated for a list of designated holidays and surrounding days; requests may be addressed onsite with the manager via RTO form
- RTO cannot occur within 14 days of the start date and cannot exceed 7 days
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay; local candidates may be considered at a reduced rate
- Proof of residency documents (lease/mortgage statement and utility bill) required within 48 hours of offer acceptance for local candidates
- Previous perm staff cannot return to the same campus within 24 months, but may return to a different Covenant Health campus after 12 months
- Traveling spouses or family members cannot be assigned to the same unit
- Floating assignments comply with Joint Commission standards, including appropriate orientation to the new unit
