Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse - Operating Room for a night shift role requiring TN or compact RN licensure and OR circulating/scrubbing experience.

Details

• Operating room setting within a hospital
• Night shift schedule of 4x10 hours, 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM, Monday through Thursday
• No call requirements
• Cerner charting experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications required: BLS and NIHSS; ACLS and CNOR preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience required
• Skills needed include vascular, general surgery, and bariatric procedures such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, and gastric bypass
• Experience with thoracic procedures preferred, including lobe resection, thoracotomy, mediastinoscopy, and VATS
• Certifications and licensure must not expire within 45 days of the start date
• Proof of residency documents (mortgage/lease and utility bill) required within 48 hours if offered

Additional Information

• Provide circulating and scrub nursing support for a variety of general, vascular, thoracic, and bariatric surgical procedures
• EKG testing must be passed prior to start date
• Floating may be required in accordance with facility policy and clinical competency
• Holiday RTO requests will not be accommodated for a defined list of major holidays and surrounding days
• RTO cannot occur within 14 days of the start date and cannot exceed 7 days
• Former perm staff cannot return to the same campus within 24 months, though they may return to a different campus within the health system after 12 months
• Spouses or family members cannot be placed on the same unit
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are eligible at a reduced rate
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for the standard travel rate
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
