Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse - Operating Room for a night shift role requiring TN or compact RN licensure and OR circulating/scrubbing experience.
Details
- Operating room setting within a hospital
- Night shift schedule of 4x10 hours, 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM, Monday through Thursday
- No call requirements
- Cerner charting experience preferred but not required
Requirements
- Active TN or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications required: BLS and NIHSS; ACLS and CNOR preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience required
- Skills needed include vascular, general surgery, and bariatric procedures such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, and gastric bypass
- Experience with thoracic procedures preferred, including lobe resection, thoracotomy, mediastinoscopy, and VATS
- Certifications and licensure must not expire within 45 days of the start date
- Proof of residency documents (mortgage/lease and utility bill) required within 48 hours if offered
Additional Information
- Provide circulating and scrub nursing support for a variety of general, vascular, thoracic, and bariatric surgical procedures
- EKG testing must be passed prior to start date
- Floating may be required in accordance with facility policy and clinical competency
- Holiday RTO requests will not be accommodated for a defined list of major holidays and surrounding days
- RTO cannot occur within 14 days of the start date and cannot exceed 7 days
- Former perm staff cannot return to the same campus within 24 months, though they may return to a different campus within the health system after 12 months
- Spouses or family members cannot be placed on the same unit
- Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are eligible at a reduced rate
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for the standard travel rate
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
