Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Stepdown/PCU unit requiring at least 1 year of Stepdown/PCU experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

Work in a Stepdown/PCU/DOU/IMC and Telemetry unit within a teaching hospital setting
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
Primarily weekday schedule with occasional weekends and rotating holidays
Floating required within OSU
Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of Stepdown/PCU experience required (4 years required if MS/Tele background only)
Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Experience with IV insulin protocols and endocrine/metabolic care
Experience with non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula respiratory support
2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership role and a Charge RN acceptable as the second; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

Provide direct patient care to Stepdown/PCU-level patients requiring telemetry monitoring and emergency response readiness
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
RTO must be submitted with the initial contract and limited to 7 days or less
Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for traveler positions
Local candidates accepted at the same rate
Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
