Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Renal Med-Surg unit requiring telemetry interpretation skills and Epic EMR proficiency.
Details
- 21-bed Renal/Medical-Surgical unit
- Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Cares for adult patients with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and post-dialysis needs alongside complex medical-surgical conditions
- Continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring for high-acuity, high-turnover patient population
- Float required to similar Med-Surg units including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and ED boarders
- No on-call requirement
Requirements
- Active OH RN license or compact license required
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 3 years of recent Med-Surg and Telemetry experience required
- Renal experience strongly preferred
- Must independently read and interpret telemetry strips
- Epic EMR proficiency required with no training provided
- Must pass a competency test on Day 1
Additional Information
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult renal and medical-surgical patients
- Collaborate with nephrologists and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Must demonstrate adaptability, efficiency, and strong critical thinking in a high-volume setting
- Returning travelers within 9 months may have additional start date flexibility
