Description

American Traveler is hiring a NICU RN for a Level III/IV NICU position requiring CA RN licensure and prior PICU experience.

Details

• Work in a Level III/IV NICU within a teaching hospital setting
• Care for neonates across gestational ages, including <24-28 weeks, 29-34 weeks, and >34 weeks
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Floating to other units or facilities within a 75+ mile radius may be required at any time during the assignment

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BSN required
• AHA BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Level III/IV NICU required
• PICU experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be reflected in employment history
• Skilled in neonatal procedures including IV therapy, arterial line management, UAC/UVC care, and ventilator management
• Experience with neonatal respiratory support including CPAP, high frequency ventilation, and oxygen delivery systems
• Knowledge of neonatal medication administration including vasopressors, antibiotics, and anti-seizure medications
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care to critically ill neonates including respiratory, cardiovascular, neurologic, and gastrointestinal support
• Perform developmental care practices and support patient/family teaching
• Manage specialized equipment such as oscillators, Vapotherm, and therapeutic hypothermia cooling blankets
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with full employment history for rehire eligibility review
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager; RTO is not permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, and no additional requests will be accepted mid-contract
• Travel pairs are allowed but generally will not be placed on the same unit
