Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring 3+ years of ICU experience and a compact RN license.

Details

• ICU setting caring for trauma, cardiovascular, stroke, and neuro patients
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to the IMC unit as needed
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or MD) currently in hand
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required (2+ years with strong experience may be reviewed); no new graduates
• Epic charting experience required
• Prior travel nurse experience required
• Preferred experience: charge nurse role, teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II settings
• Strong critical care skills including IV therapy, arterial and central line management, ventilator management, cardiac drip titration, and CRRT/CVVHD
• Experience with neurological interventions such as EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-craniotomy care preferred
• Experience with IABP, TAVR, and CVP monitoring preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to complex ICU patients including trauma, cardiovascular, stroke, and neuro cases
• Work within a surgical intensive care unit environment
• Expected to work some holidays and weekends as scheduled
• Only one RTO request permitted, which must be approved prior to assignment start
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
• Former travelers must have a 90-day break after 1 year before returning to this facility as a traveler
• Former permanent employees must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
