Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level I trauma Pediatric ICU position requiring PALS certification and prior ICU float experience across multiple critical care units.

Details

• Work in the PICU at a Level I trauma pediatric hospital
• 1:2 patient ratios
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Every weekend requirement
• Required to float between ICUs at two campuses, including NICU (Level IV), TICU, PICU, and CICU
• May float to general care areas if there is no ICU need
• Servo ventilators used across all ICUs
• RRTs utilized in each ICU

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• BLS and PALS (AHA only) certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Level I trauma facility experience required
• Experience with ICU drips, medications, and vasopressors required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• BSN preferred but not required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• License must be in hand at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric ICU patients
• Must be available to work either the Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday rotation based on staffing needs
• Candidates requesting both major holidays off will not be considered
• Facility is a nicotine-free campus and tests for cotinine/nicotine
• Med pass/fail test administered, with a second chance given if the first attempt is not passed; failure to pass the second test results in cancellation
• First-time travelers are accepted if their resume demonstrates the needed skills
• ASAP start required
