Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring a compact RN license and prior travel experience.

Details

• ICU setting caring for trauma, cardiovascular, stroke, and neuro patients
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to IMC required based on clinical scope
• EPIC charting system required

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or MD)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience preferred, will consider 2+ years with strong experience
• No new graduate RNs considered
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• EPIC experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, blood product administration, and vasoactive drip titration
• Experience with ventilator management, chest tube care, and respiratory therapies
• Neurological care skills including CVA/stroke management and post-neurosurgery care
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to complex ICU patients including trauma, cardiovascular, stroke, and neuro cases
• Work within a Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting
• Expected to work some holidays and weekends as scheduled
• One RTO request allowed, must be approved prior to assignment start
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for standard travel rate
• Former travelers must separate for at least 90 days before returning to this facility
• Former permanent employees must be separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Pending license candidates accepted
