Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a hospital-based night shift assignment requiring RRT certification and at least 1 year of specialty experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Respiratory Therapy department
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts
• 40 hours per week, 5 days per week
• EPIC charting system used
• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications
• May be required to take on-call during a regularly scheduled shift

Requirements

• Graduate of a NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program from an accredited institution
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT)
• Current state license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist required (license required if applicable)
• BLS certification required (AHA, must not expire prior to start)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty being applied for
• Date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides advanced-level respiratory care to diagnose, evaluate, treat, and manage cardiopulmonary conditions per physician orders
• Performs, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic testing procedures including arterial blood gases
• Administers medications and evaluates patient response according to protocol
• Communicates patient progress with physicians, nurses, and other departments
• Educates patients and families on self-care techniques and health promotion
• Completes documentation according to departmental standards and monitors supply and equipment needs
• Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives, including identifying process improvements and safety hazards
• Acts as a resource, consultant, and mentor to CRT staff and other team members
• Participates in quality improvement and research activities as part of the Respiratory Care Team
• Returning Intermountain employees must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
