Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a KY or compact RN license and offering evening shifts with weekend and holiday rotation.

Details

• Emergency Department setting with 64 patient care areas seeing 250+ patients daily
• RN to patient ratio of 4:1 with ED Techs on staff for support
• 3x12 evening shift schedule from 11a-11p
• 36 hours per week at 0.9 FTE
• Weekend and holiday rotation required

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document in accordance with scope of practice and hospital policy
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and care coordination
• Provide patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning
• Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy of delegated care provided by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Collaborate with case management and the interprofessional care team to support timely discharge planning
