Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and a WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
- Facility performs 200-300 births per month
- Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, and high risk antepartum cases
- Staff circulate, assist with OB-GYN and GYN surgeries, and provide post-op, pre-op, and scrub duties
- Staffing ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:3
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30
- 13 or 26 week contract options available
- Floating required to Post-Partum and possibly to L&D at a nearby sister facility
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience with blood and blood product administration, central line maintenance, and IV therapy
- Experience with high risk delivery, C-section circulation and recovery, and sterile vaginal exams
- Experience with epidural anesthesia and PCA pain management
- Experience with fetal monitoring and IUPC placement and calibration
- Experience with antepartum and postpartum care
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Attend all deliveries including high risk deliveries
- Provide couplet care, low risk antepartum, and transition nursery support
- Administer medications including heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate therapy
- Perform wound assessment and care and maintain isolation precautions/PPE
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility unless applying as a local candidate
- Former permanent employees of this facility may return as travelers after a 3 month separation, provided they live outside the 50 mile radius
- Perm staff from other Providence facilities (non-Swedish) are eligible for a travel contract after a 3 month separation
- All Swedish facilities honor active compact licenses
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront; minimal to no RTO is preferred to avoid delays in the offer process
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
- First time travelers are welcome to apply
