Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience and an active Ohio state license.
Details
- Respiratory therapy department serving adult critical care and emergency department patients
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
- Weekend work required
- Floating between campuses may be required
- 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Current BLS and RRT certification required
- Active Ohio State RT license required at time of consideration (must be active and in hand, pending not accepted)
- License required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- High school diploma or official transcripts required for compliance
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Experience with airway management including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Experience with medication delivery systems and aerosol setup
- Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care services in adult critical care and emergency department settings
- Perform ventilator management, airway management, and pulmonary hygiene procedures
- Administer respiratory medications and manage oxygen therapy including high flow nasal cannula
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Former employees eligible for assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
- Current employees are ineligible for travel positions at this health system
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role; charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted
- RTO must be submitted with application and built into contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing contract
