Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN - ICU for a night shift float pool position requiring 3 years of ICU experience and a Maine or compact RN license.

Details

• ICU float pool position within a hospital setting
• Care for basic ICU patients including sedated, intubated, and pressor-dependent patients across SICU, MICU, Neuro ICU, and CICU
• Float requirements include Neuro ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, Cardiac ICU, and CTICU based on experience, plus floating to any IMC as needed
• Patient ratios of 1:2 on IMC and 1:3 in ICU
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 75% weekend hours required
• No on-call requirements
• EPIC EMR used
• 25-mile float policy between facilities as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (Maine or Compact) required
• BLS and other AHA certifications required; non-AHA certifications accepted at submission but AHA certification must be completed before start
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references required

Additional Information

• Float pool RN responsible for providing high-quality patient care across multiple ICU units with flexibility for multiple assignments in a single shift
• Candidates must demonstrate strong team communication skills and adaptability given the float pool nature of the role
• Non-specific scrub color required; open-toed shoes, crocs, jeans, and clothing with large logos or profanity are not permitted
• Air pods, laptops, and cell phone usage are prohibited while on the unit
• Local candidates within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are eligible but not for renewals or extensions
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract at manager's discretion
• Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months must disclose this information
