Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 12-hour day shift hospital assignment requiring at least 1 year of specialty experience and current RRT licensure.

• Hospital-based Respiratory Therapy department
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications
• May be required to take on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Graduate of an NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program from an accredited institution
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care
• Current state RRT license required if applicable
• BLS certification required; must be AHA-issued and not expire prior to start
• PALS and ACLS certifications required (AHA), not expiring prior to start
• NRP certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty being applied for
• Epic charting experience required
• Date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide advanced-level respiratory care to diagnose, evaluate, treat, and manage cardiopulmonary conditions per physician orders
• Perform, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic testing procedures including arterial blood gases according to protocol
• Oversee and troubleshoot respiratory equipment for optimal patient care
• Administer medications safely and evaluate patient response according to protocol
• Communicate patient progress and condition to physicians, nurses, and other departments
• Educate patients and families on self-care techniques and health promotion
• Complete documentation according to departmental standards, including productivity tracking
• Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying areas for process improvement
• Serve as a resource, consultant, and mentor to CRT staff and other department personnel
• Participate in quality improvement and research activities as part of the Respiratory Care Team
• Former Intermountain facility employees must be separated for at least one year to be eligible for this assignment
