Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 12-hour day shift hospital assignment requiring at least 1 year of specialty experience and current RRT licensure.
Details
- Hospital-based Respiratory Therapy department
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
- May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications
- May be required to take on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
- Epic EMR used for charting
Requirements
- Graduate of an NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program from an accredited institution
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care
- Current state RRT license required if applicable
- BLS certification required; must be AHA-issued and not expire prior to start
- PALS and ACLS certifications required (AHA), not expiring prior to start
- NRP certification required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty being applied for
- Epic charting experience required
- Date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide advanced-level respiratory care to diagnose, evaluate, treat, and manage cardiopulmonary conditions per physician orders
- Perform, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic testing procedures including arterial blood gases according to protocol
- Oversee and troubleshoot respiratory equipment for optimal patient care
- Administer medications safely and evaluate patient response according to protocol
- Communicate patient progress and condition to physicians, nurses, and other departments
- Educate patients and families on self-care techniques and health promotion
- Complete documentation according to departmental standards, including productivity tracking
- Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying areas for process improvement
- Serve as a resource, consultant, and mentor to CRT staff and other department personnel
- Participate in quality improvement and research activities as part of the Respiratory Care Team
- Former Intermountain facility employees must be separated for at least one year to be eligible for this assignment
