Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of experience and AWHONN Advanced or NCC EFM certification.

Details

Work in a Labor and Delivery unit with 4 antepartum rooms, 9 labor/high-risk rooms, and 3 triage rooms
Facility performs 200-300 births per month
Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00)
Every other weekend required
No on-call requirements
Float to postpartum required, including couplet care (newborn and maternal) when needed
Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

Active CA RN license required (compact license must be in hand at time of consideration)
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
Community hospital experience required
Teaching hospital experience preferred
Prior travel nursing experience required
Epic charting experience required
Certifications required: AWHONN Advanced (or NCC EFM in lieu of), ACLS, BLS, FHM, NRP (AHA certification for ACLS/BLS)
Skills required: Labor and Delivery management, assisting with vaginal deliveries, circulating for C-sections, sterile vaginal exams
Scrubbing for C-sections preferred
Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

Provide care for high-risk antepartum, labor, and delivery patients including fetal heart monitoring and high-risk pregnancy monitoring
Assist with vaginal deliveries and C-sections
Navy blue scrubs required for RNs; L&D scrubs provided
First-time travelers are not accepted
Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of consideration; post-offer RTO requests may not be granted
Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower rate
Former permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the health system
