Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for an Ortho Surgical unit on night shift, requiring 1 year of recent specialty experience and a KY or compact RN license.
Details
- Ortho Surgical unit with 30 beds and Med Surg unit with 37 beds
- Typical patient ratio of 6:1
- Utilizes PCTs and SNEs in tech roles, with a unit secretary during day shift hours
- Documentation via Meditech EMR
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Full-time staff must work 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Floats to inpatient units and may assist with tasks in CCU and ED
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med Surg or Ortho specialty required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
Additional Information
- Provide patient-centered care while managing a full patient load and utilizing teamwork strategies
- Some bedside procedures performed by physicians on the unit, though less frequent than in CCU/ED
- Dress code includes scrub top and bottoms; no fleece, hoodies, sweatshirts, sweaters, denim, or camo; no shoes with holes; long sleeve shirt or scrub jacket permitted under scrub top
- All experience levels welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
