Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring active CA RN licensure and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• MS/Tele Float pool position within a hospital setting
• 1:4 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• May be required to float down and across the organization to like units or lower acuity units (excluding the ED) across 5 hospitals
• Required to work 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week cycle
• Required to work at least one holiday, including the holiday weekend
• Uses EPIC (all units) or combined EPIC/Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license (Temp or Perm, no EMSA) in hand at time of consideration
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (no pending certifications)
• Travel nursing experience required, 1 year total with 6+ months continuous leading up to consideration
• 1.5 years continuous experience in specialty required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• EPIC or combined EPIC/Cerner experience required within the last 6 months
• Experience with neurological/psychiatric, respiratory, IV therapy, cardiovascular, and telemetry monitoring skills
• 1 supervisory-level professional reference required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care with the ability to float to like or lower acuity units across the health system as needed
• Skills used may include wound care, insulin drip titration, chest tube management, and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management
• No first-time travelers considered for this position
• Returning staff and returning travelers eligible to reapply after 1 year
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed, with no additional RTO requests permitted after consideration
• Candidates must not reside within 100 miles of the facility to be eligible
• Candidates on assignment in San Diego for 9+ months or more are considered local and are not eligible
• International travelers must have 1 year of recent or current U.S. work experience
