Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of Med/Surg experience and charge experience.
Details
- Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
- Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 19:00-17:00
- Charge RN duties required
- Floating may be required in rotation with staff, based on clinical experience and unit needs
- Some weekend and holiday coverage required in rotation with staff
- Cardiac monitoring, telemetry remote monitoring, and emergency response involved
- Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred
Requirements
- Active Compact or VA RN license required in hand
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
- Oncology experience preferred
- Previous Charge RN experience required
- BSN not required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, peripheral line care, insulin administration, wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE
- Preferred skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac), nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, feeding tube care/management
Additional Information
- Candidates with pending certifications will be considered
- Biweekly orientation held on Mondays
- 8-10 hours of orientation modules required, completed during orientation and annually
- Nicotine-free campus
- Scrubs of any color permitted with professional appearance; child-friendly print tops and scrub/lab coats allowed
- Must reside within 60 miles of the facility
- Local candidates not accepted
- RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with preference for no RTO in the first weeks
- Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
