Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU Float RN for night shift coverage across multiple critical care units, requiring at least 2 years ICU experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Float position covering multiple ICUs including Trauma, Oncology, Cardiac/Heart and Vascular, Neurology, Medicine, and COVID units
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45-07:15)
• ICU staffing ratio of 2:1 across all shifts
• May float to inpatient floors with a ratio of no more than 1:3 when ICU census is low
• May be utilized as a patient sitter if needed
• Every other weekend required
• Short term acute care hospital setting
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required (compact license must match permanent residence)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience required
• Minimum 1 year CV ICU experience required
• CRRT experience beneficial
• Prior Epic experience strongly preferred
• Required skills: ventilator care, IV starts, telemetry, and conscious sedation
• Preferred skills: Swan-Ganz hemodynamic interpretation, IABP, Impella, ECMO, vasoactive drips, triage, ICP monitoring, PA lines, and Level I Trauma experience
• Preferred certifications: CPI, OCN, TNCC
• Travel experience required; will not accept first-time travelers

Additional Information

• Float assignment supporting multiple critical care and inpatient units based on facility needs
• All travelers float within their assigned service line
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved with no exceptions
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• All RTO must be finalized at time of submission with no additional requests after submission, offer, or start
• Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period before requiring a 3-month break in service
• Former permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Contract length is firm with no early cancellations to pursue other assignments at the same health system
