Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift role requiring cardiovascular experience and NM or compact RN license.

Details

• PCU functions as a cardiac stepdown unit with a significant cardiac patient population, located at the Heart Hospital
• 55 beds on the unit
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:30-7:00), with option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Weekend coverage required as needed on a rotating basis
• Floating required to like units within scope, as needed based on facility needs
• No on-call requirement
• Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending license accepted if obtained prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certification required, NIHSS and CPI preferred
• 2 years of RN experience preferred, will consider 1+ years
• Cardiovascular experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in respiratory care, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and cardiovascular procedures including pre/post cardiac catheterization, sheath removal, and dysrhythmia management

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac stepdown level nursing care, including cardiac drip management, telemetry monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Any scrub color accepted as long as it is logo-free
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as locals are not accepted
• Previous staff members must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3-4 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Brief orientation provided when floating to other units
