Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring a NM or compact RN license and ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications.

Details

• General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• 1:5 patient ratio
• Night shift, 4x12-hour schedule from 18:30 to 7:00
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• At least 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Floating to like units within scope may be required as needed, with brief orientation provided

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, with compact license accepted pending NM licensure obtained prior to start
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS required; CPI and TNCC preferred
• 2 years of RN experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation preferred
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring preferred
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with isolation precautions, PPE, and triage
• Trauma-related skills such as gunshot wound care, traumatic amputation, and neuro-trauma preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a range of trauma, cardiac, neurological, pediatric, and orthopedic cases
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered, as locals are not accepted
• Former staff must wait one year after separation before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Onsite orientation includes completion of required training modules
