Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a General Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ER experience and a valid IN or Compact RN license.
Details
- General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
- Level I and II Trauma Center setting
- Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- Cerner charting system experience required
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating required to units within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
Requirements
- Active RN license (IN or Compact) in hand prior to start date
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
- AHA and RQI certifications accepted if current at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Nursing degree from a college or university accredited by ACEN or CCNE
- 2 supervisor references required
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and blood product administration
- Experience with respiratory care and care of ventilated patients
- Experience managing continuous IV sedation
- Neurological care experience, including CVA management
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Triage experience
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population in a high-acuity trauma center setting
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply if they meet the required 2-3 years of ER experience
- Local candidates residing in Indiana are not accepted for this position
- Any current or former IU Health perm or PRN employee must have a 12-month break in service before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of employment within IU Health must complete a consecutive break to reset eligibility: 90 days for out-of-state residents and 180 days for in-state residents
