Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring NM or compact RN license and prior telemetry experience.
Details
- Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a Level I Trauma, teaching, and children's hospital
- Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
- 36 or 48 hour contracts available
- Patient ratios of 1:5, possibly 1:6, with hospital operating at over 100% capacity
- Required to float to other MS/Tele, PCU, and lower acuity units within skillset, as well as to the ED (1:5 ratio)
- Weekend requirement of 2 shifts per 4-week schedule, may vary by unit
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Cerner charting system
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license required (may pend at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- RQI certifications not accepted in lieu of standard BLS/ACLS
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with IV starts and maintenance
- Telemetry experience required
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care to medical-surgical telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
- Must work 2 of 3 designated holiday bundles (Thanksgiving/day after, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
- COVID vaccine optional, but facility requires reporting of vaccination status or declination
- Black scrubs required
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 100 miles from facility
- RTO greater than 10 days requires approval
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Former staff must have 12 months of separation before returning
- Travelers who complete 4 consecutive assignments or reach the one-year mark require a 6-month system break
