Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a high-acuity mixed unit assignment requiring strong telemetry and rapid response experience.

Details

• Mixed high-acuity Med/Surg Tele, Cardiac Tele, and PCU unit
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope
• 1:6 patient ratio experience required (1:5 considered if clearly documented)
• Uses Meditech charting system
• Mandatory 5-shift clinical orientation week (36-40 hours) required in first week
• No block scheduling permitted

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Med/Surg Tele, Cardiac Tele, or PCU setting
• 1:6 patient ratio experience required
• Strong telemetry experience required
• Rapid Response team experience required
• Total joint replacement experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide care within a mixed high-acuity unit including cardiac telemetry, PCU/stepdown, and general Med/Surg Tele patients
• Skills utilized may include IV therapy, central/PICC line management, blood product administration, chest tube care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and cardiac drip monitoring
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation, cardiac monitoring, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams required
• May care for patients with CVA, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal, or requiring wound care/wound vac management
• Must reside more than 30 miles from the facility for consideration
• No more than 3 call-outs permitted during the assignment
• No RTO permitted during the first or last week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage required per facility Holiday RTO restrictions, including working at least one holiday and one holiday eve depending on how many holidays fall within the contract dates
• Schedule changes may occur with 48 hours notice; refusal to accommodate may affect guaranteed hours or continued assignment eligibility
• Plan for at least 4 hours to complete required training modules prior to start date
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
