Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring strong telemetry background and 1:6 patient ratio experience in a high-acuity mixed unit.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 210 staffed beds
• Mixed high-acuity Med/Surg Tele, Cardiac Tele, and PCU unit
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00
• 1:6 patient ratio required
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope
• Uses Meditech charting system
• Mandatory 5-shift clinical orientation week (36-40 hours) required at start
• No block scheduling permitted

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in specialty required
• 1:6 patient ratio experience required (1:5 may be considered if clearly documented)
• Rapid Response team experience required
• Total joint replacement experience required
• Strong telemetry experience required
• Meditech charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Must reside more than 30 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care in a mixed-acuity Med/Surg Tele, Cardiac Tele, and PCU environment
• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• May involve care of patients with CVA, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal, and orthopedic trauma
• Scrub color is not restricted
• Free parking available in unrestricted spaces
• No RTO permitted during the first or last week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage required per facility restrictions, including working at least one Eve (12/24 or 12/31) and one to two Holidays depending on assignment length
• No RTO allowed on 10/31 or 11/27
• Plan for approximately 4 hours of module completion prior to start date
• First-time travelers are not specified as accepted or excluded
