Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years critical care experience for a night shift position in a community hospital critical care and emergency department setting.
Details
- Community hospital setting supporting Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department units
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00
- Every other weekend required
- No call required
- Floating within hospital scope of practice and to an additional Piedmont hospital as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active RRT certification required - CRTs not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, RRT, and GA state license (NRP and PALS preferred)
- License required if applicable
- Critical care skills required including intubation, airway management, and arterial line insertion
- Proficiency in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Experience with airway management devices, suctioning, extubation, and tracheostomy care
- Experience with medication delivery systems and administration including nebulizer treatments and inhaled medications
- Ability to interpret ABGs and perform basic EKG interpretation
- First-time travelers accepted
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care to adult critical care and emergency department patients
- Perform pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and oxygen therapy including high flow nasal cannula
- Assist with bronchoscopy procedures as needed
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized at time of submission
- No RTO permitted during orientation week
- Holiday coverage required per facility policy based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance may result in a two-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
