Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN – Telemetry Float for a hospital telemetry unit requiring PA or Compact RN license and prior telemetry experience.

Details

• Work as a float RN within a Telemetry unit and related specialty units
• Patient population includes cardiac, telemetry oncology, neurological, GI, and orthopedic cases
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Shift options include Day (3x12, 7:00-19:30) or Night (3x12, 19:00-7:30)
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius as needed
• Cerner experience preferred

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration required
• Experience managing respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response protocols required
• Teaching and community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• PICC line management and ABG interpretation skills preferred

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-level nursing care across a variety of patient populations including cardiac, renal, neurological, and orthopedic cases
• Perform cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and wound care as part of daily responsibilities
• Available to work every other holiday
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• Travel pairs may be accommodated based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
